"The Rainforest Adventure" by Erin
I felt the brown-yellow-green leaves crunch under my feet. I heard the beautiful chirping of the birds. I looked side to side and saw spiders, snakes and frogs. I looked and saw birds and bugs. There were mosquitoes, flies, and more. I looked down and saw a bright colored snake. It tried to bite me, but I moved my leg away. I was amazed! I’ve never seen anything like this place! I smelled the fresh air. I saw banana trees. I climbed it. I felt the rough bark of the banana tree. Ten minutes later, I collected five bananas. I ate some bananas and tried to remember how I got here.
The last thing I remembered was being at the airport. I was waiting for my flight. ”All aboard to Peru!”
“That's my flight!” I thought. I got on the plane.
0ne hour later, I was halfway there. Suddenly, the plane started doing loopty loops! It was out of control! The next thing I knew, I was at the Amazon rainforest.
I got extremely thirsty so I got water from a river. As I was drinking, I saw five silver fish swim by. I quickly grabbed them so I could eat. I made a basket out of twigs and liana vines. I put the fish in and continued exploring. I found a shady cave and rested in the cool shade. “It’s the perfect place for home.” I thought. I looked around the cave and saw a baby jaguar. Its leg had a big cut and its paw was broken.
I made a band-aid using leaves and liana vines. I also found feathers from macaws to make the band aid soft. I wrapped the bandange on the injured paw. I pet the jaguar and named her Sunset. I gave her some fish and water.
That’s when I realized I could understand cat language!
Sunset said, “I’m all alone. I don’t have a family.”
I decided to keep Sunset.
Later, I heard a loud whirring. I looked up and saw my sister’s helicopter! She threw down a ladder. I climbed into the helicopter carrying Sunset too. In five hours, I was home.
