"Lost in the Rainforest" by Daniel
I felt my stomach dropping. The plane was going deep down. I tried to put my parachute on, but it was too late. BANG! The plane crashed in a forest. I didn’t know what to do. I opened the door and jumped out of the plane. Oops! I jumped right onto a jaguar. It jumped up and stared at me.
I was frightened. I ran away as fast as I could. I didn’t know what to do. It was scratching me like a lunatic. I got away by dodging through the big thick tall trees. Finally, I lost him. I started to explore my surroundings. I saw so many thick dark brown tall trees. I saw colorful fruits. They looked tasty. I saw snakes blending in the brown trees. I heard jaguars growling. I heard snakes slithering. I heard eagles screeching up high in the trees. I heard monkeys swinging from tree to tree. I felt the crunchy leaves on my feet. I looked around and saw a tree full of mangos.
I climbed the tree to get some. The mango was so sugary. It was the best mango I had ever eaten. I got water by scooping water from the Amazon River with my hands. I made a hut by getting sticks. I tied them together and put liana vines on the outside of the hut.
I walked out of my hut. I saw a jaguar. He had very light yellow fur with black spots on it. I saw the sun shining on it. I gave him water and some meat so he would like me. The next day, I ran back to the Amazon River. I sharpened a stick and threw it in the river at the orange fish. I gave the fish to the jaguar. He started to like me. Then I named him Gabe.
Now I knew I could survive in the rainforest, but I wanted to see my parents. I built a bridge out of sticks and liana vines. I said goodbye to Gabe and left him in the rainforest. I walked back home.
