"The Rainforest Chaos" by Arthur
It was pouring rain. I was soaked! A jaguar was chasing me. I was running out of breath and started to slow down. I was on a ship during a storm and then a lightning bolt hit the boat. The ship began to sink as a big wave came and pushed me into the water. That's all I remembered. I was finally able to escape the jaguar by running as fast as I could. I went into a bush and on the other side I saw monkeys with bananas fighting snakes. I ignored the fight and went on. I heard water dripping from leaves and I heard animals roaring. It was really annoying.
I felt leaves crunching under my feet and I saw berries and coconuts.
I was hungry so I ran to the coconut tree and berry bush. Then I saw some logs and a stick with mud. I made a wooden knife out of it. I took twenty berries and one coconut. I smashed the coconut onto a rock. The coconut tasted like ice cream. Then I bit into a berry. It tasted like a strawberry milkshake. Next, I went to the Amazon River. I washed the rest of my food. I made a bucket and filled it with water. I drank it. It tasted cold and refreshing. Afterward, I used some mud, wood, and leaves to build a home. It took two hours to make. I was really exhausted.
I was so tired that I fell asleep. One hour passed and I woke up. I went outside of my shelter. I saw an injured monkey. I ran over to the monkey and brought him back to my shelter. I named him Alex. Alex was really hungry so I gave him a berry. Alex ate it in one bite. His fur was brown and he was really fluffy. I took off my sock and helped bandage his injured foot with it.
Alex’s leg healed. Then I thought to myself, “It's really fun living in the rainforest.” So I made up my mind to live there. Suddenly, out of no where, I saw a wave. It was a tsunami! I grabbed Alex and ran, but the wave was so fast that it swept us away. One hour later, I stood up. I saw that I was at Brighton Beach and saw my mom.
I tapped her and she asked, “Why is there a monkey in your hand? Where were you?”
I said, “I was in the rainforest and this monkey’s name is Alex.”
My mom was surprised but she said, “Let’s go!” Then we went home.
